Occasionally with online dating you run into a pitfall, not much different from dating in person. Like where you run into someone who you thought was crazy so you ignored their calls, emails and texts until they finally go away.

Which I'm sure no one ever breaks up by text or email (yes, this is sarcastic). Now a days we do everything by text so why not break up that way also?

Anyways, back to story:

Online, dating usually progresses like this- one person sends a wink, a flirt or a poke depending on which service you are on. The other person can wink back or be polite and send a "thanks, but no thanks".

The next step would be one sending the other a very very brief email like "hi, thanks for the wink, your picture is super cute." Use the protected email of your service, please, I can't stress this point enough.

Then the two email back and forth until they both feel comfortable sharing real email addresses and so on.

So today, I have to attend a certification class and boom! There is a guy I had once exchanged several emails teaching the class and in charge of whether I get certified or not.

Which wouldn't have been so bad if we had both agreed not to progress- but I kind of, ok not kind of- blew him off. But in my defense, he was so stuck on himself I really don't think he realized there was another person in the conversation.

My only saving grace may be that I never gave him my real name and it was an over a year ago. Maybe he didn't recognize me, he was polite. I guess I will find out in the next couple weeks when I get my test results.
